The highly sought after role has been rumored to be going to several actresses since the project was announced but it is now confirmed that Robb is the lucky actress that will get to portray the younger version of one of television’s most beloved characters. The 18-year-old actress will be trading girl-next-door wholesome for what we can only hope to be some naughty fun.

Before landing this role, Robb has been strictly about movies. She recently starred in Soul Surfer and before that had smaller roles in Race to Witch Mountain, Bridge to Terabithia, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

As for The Carrie Diaries, while we all know what happens once she hits New York City and meets Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte, this series will take fans back before that and follow Carrie during her senior year in high school in the 80s. It is based on the novel of the same name written by literary giant Candace Bushnell.

It looks like the show will air as part of the fall line-up on The CW and it seems like the perfect fit. Pairing it on the same night as Gossip Girl would be an ideal scheduling choice, especially with One Tree Hill going off the air after it rounds out its 9th season this Spring. Plus, with both The Secret Circle and Nikita up in the air, the network will need some new material.
