Shaun Frank proved himself quite the hitmaker in 2015, and now he’s started off this year’s festival season with a bang as well. The Toronto DJ/producer recently teamed up with DVBBS on a track titled “La La Land” and enlisted his tour mate and frequent collaborator Delaney Jane as the vocalist.
Unlike what Frank and Jane put together for last year’s “Heaven,” “La La Land” deviates far from the future house formula. In a class all its own, the track follows a simple yet poignant production methodology, allowing Jane’s angelic vocals to ring out with an ethereal crispness.
Now, about a month after its release, the artists involved have dropped a fantastic new video in which we get to see them recording the track live in the studio. Alex takes guitar, Chris is on drums, Shaun hops behind the piano and of course, Delaney ties everything together with her beautiful vocals.
It’s not often you get to see artists perform their songs in this manner, so when a video like this appears online, it’s always a treat. All four of the individuals here are talented musicians and getting to see them show off their skills is definitely something that we dig.
