Compared to Amazon’s exclusive boss battle and Best Buy’s hardcover novella, GameStop’s Final Fantasy XIII-2 pre-order bonus of an exclusive costume for Serah is kinda lame. However, a new bonus has been announced for PowerUp Rewards members.

Members who pre-order the game and pick it up within the three-day holding period will also receive the Genji Bow, pictured above.

We really don’t know much about the bow except it has the ability to change between a bow and sword form, and will apparently allow players to attack faster.

I know retailer-exclusive DLC is a hot button issue in the gaming industry, but loyalty program-specific DLC? I can hear the forums ablaze with hatred already.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is slated for release on January 31, 2012 for XBOX 360 and PS3.
