Speaking to Game Informer’s Jim Reilly, Sony has confirmed that Team Ico’s The Last Guardian is still in development but the company would not reveal if the game would be at this year’s E3.

The Sony rep’s exact quote reads, “The Last Guardian continues to be developed, however we have no news to share at this time with regard to the franchise and E3.”

The Last Guardian, which has been stuck in development hell for over six years at this point, was originally scheduled to launch in 2011 but was delayed to a vague “later date” last year. The last official update on the game’s progress came from Sony Worldwide Studios’ president Shuhei Yoshida earlier this year when he revealed that studios in both the U.S. and the U.K. have been tasked with helping Team Ico complete work on The Last Guardian.

It’s hard to tell exactly what is going on with Team Ico, or why development of The Last Guardian has taken up the better part of a decade, but at this point any mention that the game is still being worked on is about the best we can hope for.
