‘Hotel Tehran’ adds Lara Wolf as a tortured journalist in Guy Moshe’s intense action thriller with Zachary Levi

Five years in hell.

Lara Wolf has joined the cast of the upcoming action thriller “Hotel Tehran,” where she will star alongside Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi, whose career has spanned from beloved TV shows like Chuck to his superhero stardom in Shazam! franchise. The film, directed by Guy Moshe, focuses on a group of former CIA operators on a mission in Iran’s capital city.

According to Deadline, in the film, Wolf takes on the role of Maryam, the daughter of well-known dissident Fariba Rajevi. Her character is described as a brave and compassionate journalist and photographer who fights for women’s rights. The story follows Maryam after she has spent five years being mistreated in an Iranian prison.

Maryam’s story will be part of a larger narrative that centers on Tucker, played by Zachary Levi, who leads a team of former CIA operators who have fallen from grace. Their mission takes them into Tehran for what promises to be a life-changing operation. The casting of Neeson brings significant box office potential, as he has proven to be one of the most reliable stars in mid-budget action films.

The project brings together an experienced filmmaking team

The screenplay comes from Guy Moshe and Mark Bacci, who previously wrote “Prisoner’s Daughter.” The story is based on an original idea by Bazzel Baz, who brings real-world experience as a former CIA special operations group officer.

Oakhurst Entertainment is providing the funding for the project, with Marina Grasic producing. The production team also includes Matthew G. Zamias from Astral Future and Wendy Sweetmore of Dreamtime Films. Several executive producers are attached to the project, including Harel Kodesh, Arbel Kodesh, Justin C. Oberman, and William Doyle.

The worldwide distribution rights for “Hotel Tehran” will be handled by Rocket Science, working together with Oakhurst Entertainment, Astral Future, and Dreamtime Films. The collaboration marks a significant step forward for the project’s global release plans.

Before joining “Hotel Tehran,” Wolf’s most recent work included a starring role in the Peacock streaming series “Those About to Die,” where she worked with acclaimed actor Anthony Hopkins. The casting process for the film is being managed by Kerry Barden and Paul Schnee, known for their work on “Spotlight.”
