Donald Trump may not be the smartest president the U.S. has ever had, but he sure is the luckiest. It’s well known that Trump’s diet isn’t exactly the healthiest but considering the fact he chugs multiple cans of soda a day, constantly eats McDonald’s and pops four times the recommended aspirin dose, he’s doing pretty well health wise.
As usual, Trump thinks he knows best, even if what he’s doing goes against the advice of medical professionals. Sometimes the president even just outright makes up his own medical facts. In a recent appearance on Don Jr.’s Triggered with Don Jr. Dr. Mehmet Oz recalled how Trump told him he believed that Fanta and other diet sodas are good for him.
He then goes a step further and states that the fizzy beverage was capable of killing cancer cells. His logic for why this is supposedly true is even more insane according to Dr. Mehmet, “Your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass, if poured on grass, so, therefore, it must kill cancer cells.”
So there you have it, the cure to cancer was right there in front of us. If only all the cancer researchers working round the clock to find a cure had thought to pour a can of Fanta onto a patch of grass, maybe then they would have figured it out.
Donald Trump has no clue what he’s talking about
It goes without saying but Trump is onto absolutely nothing here. There is no proof that Fanta, or any other fizzy beverage is capable of killing cancer cells. The fact that it kills grass is not proof, if anything that’s a reason not to drink it. On X people mocked his foolish stance, “Diesel kills grass too. Could you serve him up a glass?” joked one person.
Considering how much junk food he consumes, Trump is lucky he hasn’t had more health scares up until now. Dr. Mehmet painted a rather concerning picture as he claimed that the president drinks a lot of carbonated drinks regularly. “I walk in there because he wants to talk about something, and he’s got an orange soft drink on his desk,” he told Don Jr, adding, “And I say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ So he starts to, like, sheepishly grin. He says, ‘You know, this stuff’s good for me. It kills cancer cells.’”
Don Jr. somewhat defended his father’s stance, suggesting “Maybe he’s onto something.” He then went on to claim plenty of guys in their 80s lack the “level of energy, recall, stamina” that Trump supposedly has. But again, this seems more attributable to pure luck rather than diet. Constantly consuming this kind of food is a health risk for sure.
