Elon Musk says fictional ‘woke mind virus’ killed his daughter, bragged about canceling Ebola virus prevention funding

Elon Musk is upset about a fictional virus that exists only within his head, which is ironic given that his DOGE department cut funding for research into a truly deadly actual virus that’s once again rearing its head in West Africa.

Musk’s comments came as one of his brownnoser fan accounts posted a meme of him saying he “vowed to destroy the woke mind virus”. Musk clarified that this was accurate, then explained “the woke mind virus killed my son”.

He’s referring to his daughter Vivian Musk, who transitioned from male to female and is by all appearances living a successful and happy life without him in it. But rather than be pleased she’s happy, Musk clearly considers her dead to him. This is a genuinely horrifying thing for a father to say about one of their children, who you’re at least theoretically supposed to love unconditionally.

Elon! The child you (theoretically) love is not dead! She’s right there! You can just drop them a text or give them a call anytime you like! I mean, she probably won’t respond, but at this point, who can blame her?

The woke Ebola virus?

That Musk is so caught up in viruses that he’s made up is darkly funny given what he’s done about viruses that, y’know, exist. Last year, Musk’s brief but enormously destructive tenure at DOGE saw thousands of people put out of their jobs and critical government programs cut.

Among Musk’s cuts were to the U.S. Agency for International Development to prevent the spread of Ebola, which he “accidentally canceled”. Oops. Musk admitted to this, but said he wasn’t at fault because funding was “restored”.

Well, apparently that funding wasn’t actually restored. The Washington Post later reported:

“USAID’s Ebola prevention efforts have been largely halted since Musk and his DOGE allies moved last month to gut the global-assistance agency and freeze its outgoing payments, they said. The teams and contractors that would be deployed to fight an Ebola outbreak have been dismantled.”

Oh well, who’s to say there’s even going to be another Ebola outbreak? Oh, wait, what’s that? Something’s coming down the wire!

At least six Americans were exposed to Ebola in Congo, with one already showing symptoms. The World Health Organization has declared an international emergency.

Great work, Elon, you really knocked this one out of the park. Maybe next time prioritize viruses that really do exist and are killing people over the delusional fake viruses in your head that estranged you from your daughter?
