Donald Trump has left his followers a bit puzzled with a recent post to Truth Social featuring AI generated footage of the president performing the classic rock ballad “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey.
It’s no secret that Donald Trump is a raging egomaniac and his decision to share the video perfectly demonstrates his self-absorbed nature.
Of course Trump would share a video (likely made by one of his devoted followers) that depicts him shredding the guitar and being accompanied by plenty of scantily clad women on stage all while he is adored by thousands of fans. There’s not a single doubt in my mind that this is how he sees himself at all times.
Donald Trump makes us cringe
As for the rest of us, the video is cringefest. While the country sleepwalks into recession this man is sharing AI slop like nothing’s happening! It reminds me of all the clueless grandparents sharing AI videos on Facebook. First of all, this isn’t fooling anybody, It’s very clearly AI and bad AI at that, the very weird hand movements are dead giveaways. Whether Trump was trying to fool anybody with this obviously fake video or not is unclear. But it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that Trump thinks he actually did all that.
This is just plain embarrassing for old Don. Firstly, nobody likes AI, yet Trump seems to have a weird fascination with it — this isn’t the first time he’s shared a bizarre AI abomination that’s caused confusion amongst his followers and detractors alike. One individual on X quipped, “Somebody’s gotta take away grandpa’s phone…” Meanwhile, another wrote, “this is peak Trump cringe, AI can’t hide his lack of rhythm!”
The president of the U.S. is a laughing stock
You don’t see other world leaders doing embarrassing things like this and there’s a reason for that. Donald Trump wants to be taken seriously and yet he shares this atrocious AI generated slop which depicts him mashing his fists on a piano and jerking about on stage with a guitar all in a failed attempt to come across cool. What must the rest of the world be thinking about the U.S. and the man in charge of it right now?
What’s worse is we haven’t even touched on the unethical use of AI. How much energy and water was consumed just to make this ridiculously self indulgent video? And what about the use of a copyrighted song which I highly doubt Journey okayed for use in this way? Okay, Trump obviously didn’t make the video but he’s supporting it. Maybe if Donald spent more time thinking about his policies rather than looking at all this AI slop then maybe he’d be a slightly better leader.
