A fake Chris Pratt profile wins the internet with its hilarious DC announcement

'Chris Pratt' has some big news to share.

Chris Pratt has starred in multiple projects that resonate with our inner children. He played Mario, he’s in the MCU and Jurassic Park, he was reportedly going to voice Garfield, and it’s only a matter of time until he enters the DCU. While the real Chris Pratt got his blue checkmark back, this fake account wins for possibly giving people a heart attack with a DC announcement.

It was reported recently that Krypto the Superdog will be part of the DCU reboot. During an interview with Toronto Sun, James Gunn teased Pratt that he could play the character in the DCU adaptation. While in this interview, they joked about who could play the role, this fake Twitter account picked up this interaction and ran with it, making it seem to many like the news was legit.

This “news” had fans asking the “actor” questions about the “confirmed role.” Fortunately, fake-Pratt was online to answer multiple queries and revealed details about his future canine role. After all, he’s going to be playing a talking cat in the future. Why not a talking dog? It was shared that Krypto wouldn’t be a CGI character with a voice-over dub. Instead, Krypto will be performed in a fursuit and will have a Scottish accent. And in preparation for the role, Pratt will be wearing a collar and a leash.

While this Twitter account shared “information” about the role, it is important to note that none of it is confirmed until it comes out of Gunn’s mouth, and this is a parody account. The DC co-chief urged fans numerous times to not believe in any DC rumors unless they come directly from him. And while he did confirm that the superhero dog will appear in the film, it’s still up in the air if Pratt will get the role.

At the moment, Superman: Legacy is currently in pre-production and it’s currently unknown who will don the red cape. Gunn has shared his vision for the DC hero, stating that he wants someone younger, kind, compassionate, and someone you’d like to give a hug to. So far, it was confirmed that neither Henry Cavill nor Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star, Will Poulter will play the role and the search is still ongoing.

Krypto has appeared in multiple DC TV shows and his last major DC appearance was in the 2022 animated film DC League of Super-Pets, voiced by Dwayne Johnson. So perhaps Pratt playing the next Krypto isn’t such a stretch knowing that a renowned actor voiced the character very recently.
