A video shared on X caught on after showing a man having a heated confrontation with a worker at KFC. While the exact city and state remained unverified because of the clipped nature of the smartphone recording, enough people could relate to a customer acting out that users in the comments reacted as though it could have happened at the KFC up the street from them.
The video captures a dispute that was already well underway by the time the cameras were turned on. What made this confrontation unusual was that the staff member was recording the incident; in most cases, it is usually the other way around.
The staff member explained that he was only recording because the allegedly unruly customer had started recording him first. He wanted both perspectives available online so that anyone who watched the footage could see his side of what happened and make their own judgment.
The customer wanted his money back
The customer’s video, however, never gained as much traction as the employee’s. In the clip, the staff member points his camera at the customer and explains that the man is angry about how long his order has taken. The man in the red T-shirt says the excessive wait has gone too far and that he now just wants his money back.
Another staff member comes over and tries to calm everyone down, while the employee recording the incident takes a step back. He explains that the customer comes in “every day” and that they have had similar arguments in the past. The staff member then says that these kinds of customers are the worst and offers some advice: when they come in, “don’t serve them.”
A lot of users suggested that the man should be banned from ever coming back to the restaurant. However, others had different thoughts. One user wrote, “Every day they should cook a batch of chicken that they just leave in the heat cabinet until they get a customer like this guy. Don’t want to wait? No problem! Here’s your chicken that we cooked 8 hours ago. Enjoy dummy!”

Another found the impatience ridiculous, writing, “Lol ‘yall just standing while we are waiting on the chicken not doing anything!’ Should they like go stare at the fryer? Would it make the chicken cook faster?”

However, another user felt that this was a failure on the staff’s part and suggested better training. The user wrote, “One of the weirdest things we’ve done in this new era of society is empower the worker over the customer. And we wonder why our orders are always messed up and the restaurants are dirty and the service sucks.”

These issues are widespread now
This is not an isolated incident. There have been multiple documented instances of tempers flaring at fast-food restaurants across the U.S. It could be about a late order, arguments over tips, poor service or even a long wait. Widespread miscommunication is simply something most people have now come to expect.
Regardless of where one lands after seeing this video, or any of the others like it, one message is clear: yelling has never once solved the problem.
