Homeowner says he told neighbor not to drive on their lawn, but they don’t listen. Then they learn the cost of their action: ‘Immediately regretted it’

People on TikTok are wondering where the neighbor got their license.

Neighborly disputes are often shared on TikTok and footage of alleged nightmare neighbors who are either completely unaware, inconsiderate, or in some cases downright threatening are a common sight on the video-sharing app. In this case, it’s a neighbor who appears to be lacking spatial awareness while driving.

A clip, which has already received nearly three million views in four days, shows what looks to be footage taken from a security camera outside of somebody’s house. The caption reads, “Told my new neighbor not to drive on my lawn. Well they drove on the lawn, but immediately regretted it.”

In the video, a red car can be seen attempting what appears to be a three-point turn in the driveway of the home with the camera. The car reverses over the grass of the home before pulling forward. Unfortunately for the person behind the wheel they accelerate too far and end up driving onto a grassy slope in front of them.

Told my new neighbor asked if they could park in my portion of the driveway (we share most of the driveway). I said it was fine while the house was vacant as long as they didn’t drive on the lawn. Well, they drove on the lawn, but immediately regretted it. #caughtoutside #neighbors #doorbellcamera #badneighbors #fypシ

The driver can be heard cursing as they reverse, revealing the severe damage the seemingly minor collision caused to their vehicle. The front bumper is almost completely torn from the body of the car and it drags along the floor as the driver continues to drive along.

People on TikTok criticize the poor driving

Commenters on TikTok did not hold back when it came to critiquing the driving skills on display in the video. “Technically I would not call it driving,” quipped one viewer, “have they ever driven a car before[?]” asked another. It’s safe to say people weren’t exactly sympathetic towards the neighbor.

Others noted how strange it was that the driver didn’t even get out of the vehicle to check the damage done after the crash, “Not even getting out to check the damage is wild,” reads one comment.

According to the caption underneath the video, the “new neighbor” had asked if they could use the homeowner’s portion of the driveway as they apparently share it. They told them they could as long as they kept off of the lawn. Based on the limited context the video provides, it seems like the neighbor ignored the homeowner’s request and it ended up costing them dearly.

While it’s certainly not the worst offense we’ve seen neighbors commit on TikTok, many found the instant karma satisfying to watch, “I’m sorry this happened but like. I could watch this all day.” In any case, based on the visible driving skills of the neighbor and the price they paid for it, they will hopefully be a little more alert next time they need to do a three-point turn near someone else’s lawn.
