MAGA moron blows her top as she learns ‘Arabic numerals’ are taught in schools

Let’s face it, folks, nobody looks to the MAGA movement for intelligence. Sure, they excel in frothing rage, being gullible beyond parody, and are famously riddled with insecurities, but when it comes to smarts, everyone knows they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. But even knowing all that, this now viral post on X from a die-hard Trump supporter really takes the biscuit.

Apparently, “Michigan is now FORCING all Students to learn Arabic Numerals in 2025-26 or they can’t Graduate!!!” Shocking news, I know, and one received with the appropriate level of fury by @sassafrass_84, who seems to believe this is some sort of sinister conspiracy to “take over the USA”.

As was very quickly pointed out in a community note, “Arabic numbers” are, in fact, the numbers everyone in the world uses all the time. I guess it’s to @sassafrass_84’s credit she didn’t delete the post and isn’t trying to claim she was being stupid on purpose. She later added that she’s been “Called stupid. That may be but stupid is as stupid does.” Mmm. Probably true.

It's just a psa since we are all here. The post is community noted. I don't get paid from this post. So you can rest assured that I'm not getting squat.

It should be noted that during the period considered the European “dark age” the Islamic world was a beacon of scientific discovery and invention. Aside from the numbers we use every day, Muslim scientists and engineers pioneered the water pump, the astrolabe, algebra, chess, the crankshaft, the kerosene lamp, the fountain pen, the sextant, the flywheel, clocks, and many, many more.

But, to be fair, I very much doubt the U.S. educational system is taking the time to teach children about the wonders of the reign of Abbasid caliph Harun al-Rashid, the groundbreaking work of the Banū Mūsā brothers, and the highlights of the glorious Islamic golden age.
