Mom and daughter shop at Ross. Then the staff accuses them of stealing, so the mom makes a shocking nazi remark: ‘not trying to understand your rules’

Somehow, the clothes became the least interesting part.

A trip to Ross turned into a tense confrontation after a mother and daughter questioned why an employee seemed concerned about the clothes and hangers they were handling. The video, posted to the TikTok account @lifegoesonuntilitdont, begins with the disagreement already underway, leaving some context unclear, but it quickly becomes apparent the pair feel they are being treated with suspicion.

“Are you automatically assuming we’re stealing?” the mother asks early in the video. The employee immediately pushes back: “I’m not assuming that. I asked did you put these here?” From there, the argument centers on the clothing and hangers, with the mother explaining they’d grabbed extra items “to replace them.”

The argument soon moves beyond the clothes. The mother says she plans to speak with someone named Josh because the employee has been “nothing but rude.” The employee insists it’s the other way around. “I have not been rude. But you have been exceptionally rude.” The women also raise an earlier issue involving the restroom, with the mother saying she was treated as an inconvenience and telling the employee to “Pull the video.”

The argument takes a much stranger turn

By this point, the two sides no longer agree on what prompted the confrontation. The employee keeps saying she’s just doing her job, while the woman keeps pressing on why they were approached. That gap between a customer feeling singled out and an employee enforcing a store procedure can complicate a dispute over store rules, especially when filming starts after the disagreement already began.

Then, in the middle of the argument, the mother says, “Heil Hitler!” while doing the salute. The employee asks her to stop saying, “What? Okay, that is enough.” She tells the group their behavior is inappropriate and that they can leave, though the argument over store procedure continues. Later, the mother continues questioning the store’s procedure, saying, “I’m not trying to understand your rules.”

That moment became the focus of the comments. “the collective ‘what ‘ IM DEAD,” one person wrote. Another commenter was more sympathetic to the daughter, writing, “Yall that poor girl didn’t want to be embarrassed by her mom and asked so nicely.” A third objected to the filming itself: “recording people shouldn’t be allowed especially when they asked you not to you weren’t in any dangerous situation she asked nicely and was clearly embarrassed you’re in the wrong.”

The full interaction is hard to judge, since the women reference roughly 20 minutes of prior events not shown on camera, and the employee never explicitly accuses either woman of stealing. Still, the mother’s repeated questions make clear she interpreted the employee’s actions as suspicion, showing how questions about merchandise can be taken as an accusation of theft

By the end of the clip, the argument over the clothes and hangers is still unresolved. The employee maintains she was simply doing her job, while the women continue to question why they were approached at all.
