A New York woman who posts on TikTok as Jes Finesse (@jesfinesse0) said she DoorDash’d McDonald’s Big Macs and received sandwiches with no beef patties. She shared the claim in a video that showed two boxed burgers on a wooden table, each with a receipt taped on top.
On-screen text in the first TikTok video read, “when I doordashed and they FORGET to put the patties on…” The receipts visible in the clip listed “Big Mac ONLY American Chee ONLY Pickle ONLY Shredded Lett.” She indicated she had ordered the Big Macs with no onions.
She appeared on a phone call in the same video and asked what time the restaurant closed. A voice identified in the clip as a McDonald’s employee replied, “We close in 27 minutes.” She then opened the boxes. One showed a top bun with shredded lettuce, cheese, and pickles. The other showed a bottom bun with cheese and lettuce. No meat patties were visible.
Follow-up video used the line ‘WHERE’S THE BEEF’
The first video’s caption was “OMW @McDonald’s.” In the clip, she said, “So I’ll make sure I’m there in 20. I’m beating the F–k out of everybody. You are first. See you.” The video had gained 974,800 views, 105,800 likes, and more than 2,100 comments.
She later posted a follow-up video on TikTok with the caption “WHERE’S THE BEEF.” On-screen text in that clip read, “when doordash customer service only giving me $5 back in credits.” The video showed hands assembling two open burger boxes that again contained toasted bun bottoms, shredded lettuce, sauce, pickles, and cheese on one sandwich, with no patties visible.
An audio clip played over the second video. She asked, “Yeah, what’s your name? Can I get your name?” Another female voice replied, “Sure, my name is Tina.” The male voice then said, “Well, Tina, F–k you!”
McDonald’s website states that issues with Mobile Order & Pay that do not involve delivery, or refund requests for those orders, should be handled by returning to or contacting the restaurant where the purchase was made. McDonald’s mobile order issues can lead to disputes, like when a DoorDash driver ate a customer’s food.
For McDonald’s app delivery orders, the site says customers should check the vendor name to see whether Uber Eats or DoorDash handled the order and then contact that partner. A phone number was given for each. Orders placed directly through Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, or Postmates should be resolved with those delivery partners, the site said. McDonald’s app delivery issues are part of broader order problems, such as when an Ohio man’s total for Big Macs and nuggets came to exactly 69.
Viewers commenting on the videos focused on the wording on the receipts. Several said the printed “ONLY” items explained why the patties were missing. One commenter wrote, “They gave you what you asked for. You forgot to say the meat.” Another wrote, “I mean it does say only american cheese, pickles and lettuce.” A third wrote, “read your order you put ONLY cheese, pickle and lettuce.”
A commenter who identified as a former McDonald’s manager took the opposite view and wrote, “As a former McDonald’s manager, if it doesn’t say, “No beef patty”, then the d–n beef should be on the sandwich.” Other comments included, “he ate the beef then video tape” and “How to go to jail over a couple hamburgers.”
