A San Diego man said in his TikTok video that he ordered pizza for his employees and later found the food sitting on the ground in front of a different building. The creator, who posts as @lippmanunscripted, shared the clip that has gained hundreds of thousands of views.
He stated he paid $160 in total for the order. That amount included $140 worth of pizza plus a $20 tip, according to the TikTok video. The man explained he had a large corporate group and needed the lunch delivered to their office.
He said he entered the address as 300 G Street and noted that the group was inside the courtyard. In the video, a still photo shows the man standing in front of a building with “300 G St” visible above the door.
Man describes finding the pizzas outside a different building
The man said the driver went to 333 G Street instead, which he described as across the street. He said three pizzas and a salad were left on the ground in front of that building’s entrance in downtown San Diego.
A still photo in the video shows the entrance marked “333.” The man is seen standing outside with the pizza boxes and a paper bag visible on the ground behind him near a glass door. He questioned what happened to the food after it was left there. Delivery mix-ups can go the other way too, as in the case of a woman finding 19 unordered DoorDash pizzas at her door.
He said he contacted Uber Eats through the app and was told he would not receive a refund. The man then explained that he called customer service. According to the video, the app indicated the wait would be about one minute. He stated he was still on hold 20 minutes later. Meanwhile, he said his employees were hungry, the pizza was gone, and he was out $160. In the video, he asked, “Explain this to me.”
According to Uber Eats policy, if an order never arrives but the customer is charged, the company will review what happened and make any necessary adjustments. The policy notes that customers should contact support within 48 hours. It also states that if a delivery person made a reasonable effort to contact the customer after arriving at the delivery address, a refund may not be available.
Viewers responded to the video with a range of reactions. One commenter expressed shock at the price, writing, “You’re telling me 3 pizzas and a salad is $140!? That’s insane.” Another commenter suggested a different approach to the charge. They wrote, “You paid for it with a corporate credit card, right? Call the credit card company and dispute the charges, that’s what you do.”
One viewer commented on tipping in general. They wrote, “This is why tipping means nothing, the service don’t change.” A separate commenter offered an alternative to delivery. They wrote, “Just go pick up the pizza yourself it be like $100 cheaper lol.” Pizza orders can go wrong in other ways, too, such as when a Mod Pizza owner targeted by pizza trick discovered what someone had pulled on his restaurant.
