San Diego woman confronts neighbour allegedly stalking her. Then he has the audacity to ask why she’s uncomfortable: ‘‘No’ not being an answer is crazy’

Commenters encouraged her to file a police report.

A San Diego woman shared a video of a tense conversation with a man after she said she had repeatedly asked him to stop approaching her. TikTok creator E (@ericaoffrecord) posted the video, writing in the caption: “Being a woman is terrifying. ‘No’ not being an answer is crazy.” The creator said the interaction involved a man she knows as a neighbor.

The video appears to show E keeping her hand over the camera while recording the conversation. The events shown in the clip have not been independently verified, and there is no public record of police involvement connected to the encounter. The creator did not state in the post whether she filed a police report.

During the conversation, E told the man she had previously communicated that she did not feel comfortable around him. She said she had expressed those concerns both in person and through text messages. “I’ve let you know several times via text, in person; I don’t feel comfortable,” she said in the video. She added, “I don’t feel comfortable being around you or communicating with you.”

She alleged he approached her car

She also told him that his previous interactions had made her feel unsafe, including an alleged incident where he approached her vehicle. “When you go up to my car and you said, ‘Why are you not talking to me?’” she said. “That’s not funny to a woman who lives alone.”

The woman said she felt she had tried to handle the situation calmly before raising her voice during the recorded exchange. “I was nice. I told you calmly. I told you over text. I told you several times,” she said. “Do not come near me.”

At another point in the conversation, the man appeared to question why she felt uncomfortable. E responded that she did not owe him an explanation. “I owe you no answers. I owe you nothing,” she said. “Leave me the [expletive] alone.”

The woman also questioned how many times she needed to tell him she did not want contact. “What’s it gonna take for you to listen to me?” she said. “Do I have to yell?” Near the end of the video, E told the man she would contact police if he continued. “Leave me the (expletive) alone or I’m calling the cops,” she said.

After she posted the video, commenters encouraged E to document the situation. One commenter who identified themselves as an attorney wrote, “Please file a police report. You need to create a record.”

Another commenter praised her approach, writing, “You didn’t sound shaky, you didn’t stutter, you were clear and confident. I’m so proud of you.” E responded, saying she now has a large dog, which makes her feel “a little bit more protected.” Opinions expressed in the article are those of the TikTok creator and her commenters.
