Texas woman orders fresh green beans at H-E-B, then notices a head poking through her produce: ‘DO BETTER’

A woman shares a video of a dead snake in a bag of green beans from an H-E-B curbside order. Her husband laid out the details in a short TikTok video. H-E-B is a Texas-based grocery chain that offers curbside pickup at many of its stores.

The video posted on the TikTok account, Taoreed_X, shows a clear bag of green beans sitting outside. A small dead snake sits among the beans, and its head is easy to spot. Nobody touches it, and the camera slowly pulls back.

On-screen text reads “My WIFE ordered curbside green beans @HEB not a SNAKE WTH….” The caption is more direct: “I’m going to need y’all to DO BETTER!”

The bag contained more than green beans

According to the caption, his wife picked up the order and later returned the bag. He says the store treated the return like “no big deal” and offered her a $20 gift card. This isn’t the first unusual discovery involving green beans to make the rounds online. A woman previously claimed she found what appeared to be a human finger inside a can of green beans.

The video does not show the return or the gift card offer. That part rests on the poster’s account. The clip also does not say which store filled the order or when it happened.

H-E-B‘s curbside process means the groceries are brought out to the customer’s car rather than picked from the shelves by the customer. The company’s instructions tell shoppers to park in a designated curbside spot and have a curbside partner load the groceries into the vehicle. In this case, the alleged problem was discovered after the order was handed over. A woman previously made a similarly unusual claim after finding what looked like a claw inside a package of frozen meat.

The comments split quickly over the packaging. One user wrote, “That’s a lie HEB green beans aren’t packed that way”. Another said, “crazy how everybody shops at HEB but doesn’t know that this is how their green beans, sometimes potatoes and brussels sprouts are packaged.” We could not confirm either claim from the video alone. Plenty of commenters joked about it.

One reply, “That’s how you know they’re fresh,” collected more than 3,500 likes. Others said they would have pushed for more than a $20 gift card.

The video and caption don’t explain how the snake ended up in the bag or where that happened. H-E-B has not responded, so it is unclear where along the process the snake entered the bag.
