Woman pays for an economy seat on China Airlines. Then she sees Marc Jacobs bag and more luxury surprise waiting in her seat: ‘were stunned to find all this’

Met her expectations and then some!

A woman filming from her airplane seat said she thought she was in economy on China Airlines when she spotted a Marc Jacobs bag, a New York-based luxury brand, waiting for her. In a TikTok video posted by the account @lydmf, she held up the cream-colored pouch and began taking out the items one by one.

On-screen text in the video reads, “china airlines ate DOWNNN this is about to be the best 13 hour flight of my life.” She said, “I’m flying China Airways and look at what they have on every seat – economy, mind you.” She later wrote in the caption that they found out after recording that the cabin was premium economy.

She added that they had booked the cheapest tickets they could find. She wrote in the caption, “were stunned to find all this.” Another woman, whom she called Gabby, leaned into the frame as she unpacked the kit.

In the video, she unzipped the pouch and pulled out a pair of soft, light-brown slippers. She then held up a matching light-brown eye mask. She said, “Hi! Everyone say hi to Gabby.”

She next took out a small, clear plastic bag with a pink tube of hand cream and a small pot of lip balm. She said, “Hand cream and lip balm.” She also showed a small brown paper packet of earplugs and a dental kit wrapped in brown paper.

She put the items back in the Marc Jacobs bag and said, “And that’s it. Amazing.” The caption used the hashtags #chinaairlines, #travel, #solotravel, #flight, and #airplane.

China Airlines’ website describes a Marc Jacobs travel kit for premium economy class under the name “The Flight Case.” The site says the kit uses vibrant colors and a modern look. It also says the kit includes enhanced skincare and matching foldable slippers.

The airline’s site says premium economy passengers can get complimentary Wi-Fi. It also lists in-flight entertainment such as movies, short videos, music, and games. A separate section on the site describes food created with restaurants, including T+T, MIPON, TOUTOUAN, MOONMOON FOOD, and Yang Ming Spring.

The woman said in her caption that they only learned it was premium economy after she recorded the video. She said they had booked the cheapest tickets and still found the branded bag and the rest of the kit at their seats. Airline surprises can go either way, as a Boston woman on a 12-hour flight was horrified to find her seat wipes were not going to fix that.

Viewers in the comments focused on whether passengers can take the pouch home and on whether the bag was real. One commenter asked, “can u keep the bag?” Another wrote, “And the cutlery and the blanket and whatever can fit in your backpack.” A further reply said, “yes of course!”

Another commenter wrote, “The amount of dense people in the comments saying the Marc Jacob’s bag is fake like real designer isn’t also made in china.” One person said they flew with Air China and China Air from Sydney, Australia, to the U.K. for $650 one way and were “blown away.” They wrote that other airlines would charge double or triple and that they “didn’t get Marc Jacob bag but got everything else and the food was excellent.”

Another commenter wrote, “I love China Airways dowwwwwn always an amazing experience!!!” Airline customer experiences can vary widely, as a woman was booted from Frontier Airlines for not listening to her ticket explanation.
