Florida woman says she isn’t guilty after kissing Tinder date goodbye and calling an uber. Then he discovered his $37,000 Rolex was missing

A 24-year-old woman is currently facing a grand theft charge after a Tinder date ended with a man discovering his expensive watch collection was missing. Alexia Jocelyn Flores, of downtown Miami, is accused of taking a $37,000 Rolex and a second watch from a man she met through the popular dating app.

According to Local 10, the incident occurred at a luxury high-rise in the Brickell neighborhood in Florida. The victim allegedly brought Flores back to his unit in the Panorama Tower, located at 1100 Brickell Bay Drive, after a dinner date. Miami police claim that the pair “spent several hours drinking together” before the man decided to end the night. At approximately 2:30 AM, he purportedly asked Flores to leave his apartment.

According to the police, Flores got dressed in the bedroom and bathroom while the man waited on his couch. Surveillance footage later mentioned in the arrest report showed the victim “escorting (Flores) to the elevator, where they kissed goodbye.” The man claimed that he even arranged and paid for an Uber to take her home. The report noted, “Upon returning to his apartment, he discovered that two watches were missing from the nightstand beside his bed.”

Flores allegedly went off the radar immediately

Per Local 10, the victim allegedly attempted to contact Flores using the information he had and claimed that she had blocked his number. Law & Crime reported that the victim later participated in a six-person photo lineup, where he identified Flores as the woman he had supposedly hosted earlier that evening. To assist with the investigation, he provided authorities with a receipt confirming the $37,000 purchase price of the Rolex.

Local 10 reported that the police eventually spotted Flores on Wednesday near North Miami Avenue and 21st Street in the Wynwood area. She was taken to the downtown police station for questioning regarding the theft. 

During her interview, the arrest report alleged that “(Flores) recalled meeting the victim through Tinder, going to dinner, and returning to his apartment.” However, she reportedly provided a different account of the rest of the night. In a different Tinder pair-up, a woman went on a date only to find that she was the getaway car for a bank robbery. 

“She stated that she believed she had been drugged and could not recall what happened afterward,” the report claimed. According to Local 10, Flores explicitly denied taking the watches, though authorities confirmed that no police report concerning her drugging allegation was ever filed. 

The legal situation for Flores is complicated by her prior history. NBC 6 reported that during a court appearance on Thursday, a prosecutor pointed out that she currently has an open prostitution case and was also arrested in California for prostitution back in July. 

The judge presiding over the case appointed a public defender for her and issued an order to keep her away from the victim. In another Florida Tinder date that went wrong, a woman rejected a man who said he wanted a sugar baby, triggering him to allegedly chase her with a gun. 

Flores reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charge of grand theft, which is classified as being over $20,000 but less than $100,000. As of Thursday morning, Local 10 reported that Flores was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and that her bond was set at $7,500 by the judge.
