10 Marvel Characters Who Should Be A Priority For Netflix After The Defenders

Since the debut of Daredevil in 2015, Marvel has delivered hit after hit on Netflix. Season 2 of that series was met with widespread critical acclaim, as were the rookie outings for Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Next year, we'll see the release of Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders on the online streaming service, but what should come after that?

The Spirit of Vengeance is currently making his presence felt in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and while it’s possible that ABC could move forward with a solo spinoff for Ghost Rider, that would be much better served on Netflix. Looking at the ratings, S.H.I.E.L.D. is nearly on its last legs, but it’s at least done a great job of re-introducing the character to audiences who turned their back on him after two abysmal movies from Sony Pictures.

On Netflix, there would be a big enough budget for Ghost Rider to really shine, while the more grown up nature of the shows revolving around the members of The Defenders means that Marvel could really delve into the violent nature of the hero and the supernatural forces he faces on a regular basis. It’s hard to say whether or not this will happen, but there certainly seems to be a big enough demand for it from fans.
