New Arrow Synopsis Suggests Cayden James Will Target Oliver Queen’s Son

Even though we have about a week to go until some of our favorite DC TV shows return for the back half of the current season - with an encore presentation of the Crisis on Earth-X crossover slated for the interim, mind you - we're able to peer ever so slightly into the future now that more synopses are creeping online. Don't forget, episode descriptions tend to make their rounds three weeks ahead of time, but thankfully don't really spoil whatever episodes come before.

Personally, I’m most looking forward to the midseason premiere of Arrow, my favorite of the batch. And if you’re also up to speed, then you’re well aware that it’s been a tumultuous time for those leading dual lives in Star City. With Team Arrow itself effectively fractured, Cayden James and his posse that includes the likes of Black Siren and Vigilante will soon be stepping up their game.

Granted, our better judgment says that the heroes will all get on the same page before long, but one can’t be too sure of how soon that’ll be. If the synopsis for episode 6×11 is any indicator, though, it looks like the wheels may be set in motion on the reunion before long.

We say that because it appears that anybody is fair game when it comes to James’ grand plan, with Oliver Queen’s son, William, possibly becoming a target himself. Having already been kidnapped by Damien Darhk and Prometheus, extreme situations are starting to become routine for this kid. Really, I’m about ready for Oliver to be greeted by a citizen of the Mushroom Kingdom who’ll say, “Sorry, Green Arrow. Your son is in another castle.”

Anyway, here’s the synopsis for “We Fall,” set to air on January 25:

WILLIAM LANDS IN CAYDEN JAMES’ CROSSHAIRS — Cayden James (guest star Michael Emerson) ups the ante by launching his plan to take control of every aspect of the city. Despite the scope of Cayden’s plan, Oliver (Stephen Amell) is determined to foil it with just the Original Team Arrow – and without the aid of Rene (Rick Gonzalez), Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), or Curtis (Echo Kellum). But things get complicated when William (guest star Jack Moore) is endangered as a result of Cayden’s handiwork. Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Spiro Skentzos (#611). Original airdate 1/25/2018.

Arrow returns with new episodes on Thursday, January 18 on The CW.
