After a ten month hiatus, HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones has finally returned and it seems like the land of Westeros is starting to look like a very different place. No matter the difference in power players, The Cast Beyond the Wall is back to talk about all the biggest twists and turns from the season 5 premiere.

In this week’s discussion, we recap the somewhat polarizing episode, which features a totally broken Tyrion Lannister and the recently mentor-less Daenerys Targaryen. To kick off the season, we dive into the first flashback in Game of Thrones history and what it could means for Cersei’s seemingly bleak future as Queen of Westeros. We also try to decide the nature of the prophecy at hand and whether or not Margery is really the queen that’s predicted to bring the Lannisters down.

In The Wars to Come, Varys reveals his true allegiance and makes a proposition to Tyrion that could change the outcome of the entire show. With Tyrion being pointed to Daenerys, are we in for the show’s most powerful team up yet? Meanwhile, in the north, Jon is forced by Stannis to win the loyalty of Mance Rayder and his wildling armies to his cause. We lay out Mance’s dilemma and talk the future implications of Jon’s actions.

The Wars to Come may be a slow burn set-up episode for Game of Thrones, but there’s no shortage of things to discuss on this week’s installment of The Cast Beyond the Wall.
