Danielle Nicolet Promoted To Series Regular For The Flash Season 5

Though The Flash has lost a few key actors over the years, it's still managed to hold onto most who've comprised the principal cast since the very first season. Though The Flash has lost a few key actors over the years, it’s still managed to hold onto most who’ve comprised the principal cast since the very first season. At this point, it’s hard to imagine the show without the likes of Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdez, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin orbiting lead actor Grant Gustin.

Of course, it’s only natural for the family to grow based on how other guest characters evolve and interact with the likes of those played by the stars listed above, chief among them being Danielle Nicolet’s Cecile Horton. Although hers wasn’t a recurring role until the time of season 3, she was originally introduced all the way back in season 1, thus making her a fine example of this point.

That said, it should come as no surprise that Nicolet has now been promoted to series regular for season 5, especially when you consider that her character of Cecile also has a child with Jesse L. Martin’s Joe West. Wouldn’t you say it’d make sense she’s around more often due to that? Plus, she’s in on Team Flash’s secrets, to which not many residents of Central City are privy.

Come to think of it, there’ve been other recent indicators pointing toward this news breaking, such as Nicolet hinting that she may participate in an upcoming crossover. And while it remains to be seen if indeed her wish of visiting Black Lightning will be granted, odds are that she’ll play a small part in the big one set to introduce Batwoman later this year.

The Flash returns for its fifth season on Tuesday nights this fall on The CW.
