The second season of Daredevil is shaping up to be a rather villainous affair. For the Man Without Fear’s sophomore drop of episodes, we’re not just getting one bad guy – we’re getting loads. It’s hard to pinpoint the precise number though, especially in light of today’s new image posted to the official Daredevil Twitter.

The action-packed snap shows Matt Murdock in battle with two masked assailants, who fans of the Marvel Comics universe may recognize as The Hand:

On the page, The Hand refers to a collective of ninjas who work for a demon called the beast. Over the course of their history both Daredevil and Elektra have joined their ranks, which begs the question: how might they be involved in the series?

There are a lot of villainous routes into the show that The Hand could take, from Daredevil’s former flame, to The Punisher and potentially even via Wilson Fisk. Luckily, we don’t have long to wait to find out.

Daredevil season 2 lands in its entirety on Netflix March 18.

“Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios. Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.”
