Dylan McDermott Returning For American Horror Story: Apocalypse

In some rather surprising news, we're learning tonight that Dylan McDermott has become the latest cast member to be confirmed for an American Horror Story return.

Season 8 of American Horror Story is right around the corner now and we can hardly wait.

Aptly titled “Apocalypse,” next month’s installment will deliver the crossover we’ve all been waiting for… the moment when Ryan Murphy and his creative team bring together the worlds of “Murder House” and “Coven” for what promises to be unmissable television.

In doing so, they’ve invited a slew of AHS veterans back for the eighth season – Sarah Paulson included – and today, we’re learning that one more familiar face will return as well. After he was spotted on set a few days ago, Dylan McDermott has now confirmed his involvement, with the actor set to reprise the role of Ben Harmon, who he played in “Murder House.”

How he’ll factor into things remains unknown, as much of “Apocalypse’s” plot is being kept under lock and key, but we know that he’ll join AHS stalwarts like Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Joan Collins, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman and Adina Porter. As the show’s eighth season is tinged by witchcraft, both Emma Roberts and Taissa Farmiga are expected to reprise their roles, too, which ought to put a smile on the face of those long-time fans of AHS waiting to see their favorite characters interact on the small screen.

Expect American Horror Story season 8 to break new ground for FX’s anthology series on September 14th. And there’s still plenty more madness to come after that, too, as the network has already gone ahead and secured plans for seasons 9 and 10. Suffice it to say, viewers have lots to look forward to from Murphy’s twisted but oh so delicious show in the years to come.
