Well, things just got a whole lot more interesting for “Elseworlds,” the upcoming Arrowverse crossover.

Already, there was a ton of stuff to look forward to in the event that had fans beyond eager to see it. From the introduction of Lois Lane and Batwoman to the return of Superman, who’ll be wearing his black suit, The CW has packed “Elseworlds” with more than enough to get us to tune in. But now, they’ve gone ahead and dropped this new poster, and let’s just say that anticipation has skyrocketed.

As you can see in the gallery down below, it comes with the tagline “Destiny Will Be Rewritten” and in a shocking twist, features Barry Allen as Green Arrow and Oliver Queen as the Flash. We kid you not, and though no reason is given for the bizarre switch, you can definitely color us intrigued.

For those unfamiliar with Elseworlds, it’s a nod to DC’s line of comics which includes fan favorites such as Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, Superman: Red Son and Kingdom Come, each of which brought us alternate takes on some of the company’s most iconic heroes. It’s pretty much been replaced by the new Black Label imprint, but the legacy lives on through television.

Now, how this explains Barry as Green Arrow and Ollie as the Flash, well, we can’t say quite yet. In fact, there’s a whole lot we don’t understand about the crossover at the moment and trying to assemble all the various puzzle pieces and figuring out how they’ll all fit together has been pretty difficult.

Still, this new poster has only got us that much more excited for the Arrowverse crossover and we simply cannot wait for it to get underway on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash. Following that, it’ll continue on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wrap up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
