The Flash Season 5 Poster Introduces The West-Allen Family

The very first poster for The Flash season 5 has debuted tonight and it introduces us to the West-Allen family, which includes Barry, Iris and Nora.

The Flash season 4 ended with Barry and Iris discovering that they’re going to become parents. Although, this being a superhero show, the revelation didn’t come about in the usual way. Instead, their speedster daughter from the future, Nora, traveled back to the present to meet them and in doing so may have made a “big mistake.” Or several.

While the consequences of her actions could be severe – like Barry says in the season 5 trailer, she could “Marty McFly herself out of existence” – at least the titular hero will find himself with a new sidekick in the DC show’s next run, as Nora’s a bonafide superhero herself who goes by the name XS and even has her own costume – which is on full display on this brand new poster for season 5 of the hit series.

Seen in the gallery down below, The CW’s released an awesome piece of promo material that introduces us to the West-Allen family – which, of course, includes Barry, Iris and Nora. It doesn’t show us much more than that, but it’s nice to see this trio together and again, we also get another look at Nora in her superhero suit, which is certainly appreciated.

While they look pretty happy here, it’s no secret that a rift in the family will begin to form as season 5 kicks off. Jessica Parker Kennedy, who plays Barry and Iris’ daughter, recently told us that she’s much closer with her dad than her mom, which creates tension between her and Iris.

“Something has obviously happened for me to feel much closer to my father than my mother. It’s something you’ll find out relatively early on in the season,” said Kennedy.

What could it be that causes this family rift in the future? Why does Nora fall out with Iris and what leads her to holding a grudge against her mom’s younger self? Do things not work out for the West-Allens in the future and they divorce, with Nora maybe placing the blame on Iris? Or perhaps it’s something even worse than that?

Only time will tell, but we don’t have long until we find out, as The Flash season 5 races onto The CW on October 9th.
