‘I think it’s Netflix that’s gonna bring it back’: ‘Warrior Nun’ star clearly hasn’t been keeping up to date with the show’s salvation

Word on the street is that's the one place it won't be returning.

After months of relentless campaigning, the Halo Bearers finally managed to achieve their goal after showrunner Simon Barry confirmed that Warrior Nun would return.

However, that’s about as much information as anybody has to go on, but various reports have indicated the one place you shouldn’t expect to see it back on your screen is Netflix. It makes sense, when the platform doesn’t resurrect shows that died by its own hands, although star Joaquim de Almeida didn’t seem to get the memo.

In an interview with Collider where he reflected on the impressive methods that saw the beloved comic book adaptation rescued from the scrapheap, the actor seemed convinced that its original home would be the destination for the comeback.

“The fans put a thing in Times Square, then they went in front of Netflix, “Bring back Warrior Nun.” The creator, Barry, very sad, said, “I’m gonna try to take it somewhere else.” But I think it’s Netflix that’s gonna bring it back. So, I guess the popular demand may then bring it back.”

While it can’t be discounted, the signs have been pointing in the direction of a brand new residence for Warrior Nun, with additional chatter of a standalone feature film or shortened third season to bring the story to a fitting conclusion before bidding farewell forever.

As for de Almeida’s involvement? He said “maybe not the next season, but another season,” so he might not even be a part of it unless he can be convinced.
