Jon Bernthal Is Confident He’d Prevail Over Norman Reedus In A Punisher Battle

Wait... Norman Reedus played The Punisher? Well, yes - or more specifically, he provided the voice for the character in the Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore anime. As we know, Reedus' former The Walking Dead castmmate Jon Bernthal will suit up as Frank Castle in season 2 of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil series, and the actor seemed pretty confident that his incarnation of the violent vigilante wouldn't have much trouble with his friend's animated take.

Wait… Norman Reedus played The Punisher? Well, yes – or more specifically, he provided the voice for the character in the Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore anime. As we know, Reedus’ former The Walking Dead castmmate Jon Bernthal will suit up as Frank Castle in season 2 of Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil series, and the actor seemed pretty confident that his incarnation of the violent vigilante wouldn’t have much trouble with his friend’s animated take.

During an interview with Comicbook.com, Bernthal was quizzed about the upcoming role and unsurprisingly wasn’t giving much away – though he did respond when asked which version of Castle he thought would have the upper hand.

Look, outside of my family, there’s nobody in this world I love like Norman Reedus. I love that dude with everything I got. But his Punisher couldn’t touch my Punisher.

Obviously, this is all just a bit of fun, but it’s good to know Bernthal is passionate about the role and could well be teasing a particularly formidable version of the character with his comments.

Tune in to Netflix next year to see how Bernthal’s Punisher holds up against Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear when Daredevil returns for its sophomore season.
