Kevin Smith And Jason Mewes Feature In New Images From The Flash

Though we may still be waiting for Kevin Smith to further extend his tendrils out into the Arrowverse, one has to admit that he’s directed some mighty fine episodes of both The Flash and Supergirl to date. Of those, it’s become apparent that he likes to focus on character and emotion, but he’s still left room for some epic science fiction sequences.

As it turns out, Smith’s booked a return trip to Central City that just so happens to coincide with the end of the Scarlet Speedster’s latest hiatus (I know, we’re all getting tired of the breaks). And in that, we know not only to expect for him and Jason Mewes to get in front of the camera for a brief period, but also some memorable guest appearances to be made by heroes and villains as well.

Speaking of which, the network has released a rather generous amount of images taken from “Null and Annoyed,” which we believe mostly has to do with Smith’s return, but perhaps this bounty was also intended to be a nice treat for viewers because we had to endure yet another hiatus. On the plus side, the remaining seven episodes in this season are slated to run uninterrupted.

As you can see in the accompanying gallery, Smith and Mewes feature in a fair amount of photos, as do the rest of Team Flash. It looks like it won’t be all fun and games, either, as Breacher is giving Cisco a bit of a rough time. We get to see the villain of the week (Null), too, who was oddly not mentioned in the synopsis.

On that note, here’s the official description:

Barry (Grant Gustin) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) take different approaches to finding the remaining bus metas before DeVoe gets to them. However, Ralph’s cavalier attitude frustrates Barry and the two clash over what it means to be a hero. Meanwhile, Breacher (guest star Danny Trejo) returns to ask Cisco (Carlos Valdes) for a favor. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Lauren Certo & Kristen Kim.

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, April 10 on The CW.
