Arriving on the heels of yesterday’s information blowout, the footage once again teases Benoist’s struggle to keep the Kara Zor-El identity under wraps. But when planes are literally falling from the sky, it’s up to our budding heroine to get a grip on her superhuman abilities for the greater good. That said, great power naturally attracts even greater foes.

CBS may be keeping the Man of Steel and potential crossovers with Arrow and The Flash firmly on the sidelines for the time being, but that doesn’t mean the network hasn’t turned to DC’s decorated vault of villains for inspiration. As revealed yesterday, Supergirl will add a quartet of characters from the comics, with Livewire, Red Tornado, General Lane and Non all set to appear over the course of the first 9 episodes. Perhaps the most exciting pick of the bunch, though, is the android Red Tornado, considering that this will mark its live-action debut.

CBS’ hotly-anticipated take on Supergirl premieres on Monday, Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.
