Though John Constantine’s no stranger to dealing with the beast with many names, the bisexual exorcist has been known to make the beast with two backs on occasion. That said, it’ll be a long time before Legends of Tomorrow viewers forget about his tryst with Sara Lance last season.
Weighing in on the demonologist’s more permanent stay on the time traveling superhero series was executive producer and showrunner Phil Klemmer, who had this to offer while recently speaking with Variety:
“Obviously Constantine is going to mix things up when he joins the Legends on the Waverider. Ava is surprisingly cool about having Sara’s one-time lover on the ship. Rory reacts to Constantine the way he reacts to most new things, which is to say his first impulse is to light him on fire.”
So, as John and Sara move toward platonic territory, the outlet has served up a new image showing the two in the midst of what looks to be a heart-to-heart conversation, and it can be viewed below. From the looks of things, Constantine’s mixing ingredients for a spell – or preparing oatmeal in the wild. You decide.
All that aside, it’s already been established that awkward situations will still occur, as Klemmer also recently confirmed that Constantine will, at times, parade around the Waverider in his birthday suit. In fact, this is something that actress Caity Lotz has commented on, too, saying:
“They’ve actually known each there for a while. Constantine was the one who brought Sara’s soul back. They’ve had a relationship for a while, and he’s a unique addition to the team. He comes and he’s very much like, he thinks he’s god’s gift to earth, which he gets checked pretty quick. He just did a scene, I don’t know if I can say what it was, but he’s naked in the scene.”
