The Legion Of Super-Heroes Confront Reign In New Supergirl Clip

Even with an extended hiatus looming, it sure does look like Supergirl will squeeze in a fair amount of memorable moments within the four episodes set to air over the next few weeks. For starters, the Legion of Super-Heroes will be making their presence known in the midseason premiere itself.

So far, the network has been slowly pulling back the curtain on each individual member of one of DC’s oldest and most beloved super teams. Not long ago, we got our first look at Brainiac 5 and, more recently, we saw both Mon-El and Saturn Girl suit up.

But with the next episode now being merely hours away, the cat has been partially let out of the bag. To be more specific, our latest treat comes in the form of an actual clip excised from the highly anticipated midseason premiere.

In it, we see the Legion come together at a time when Kara is unable to protect National City from the formidable foe that is Reign. Funny enough, the accompanying gallery can almost be viewed as a flip book of sorts, with the action scene playing out almost exactly as we imagined it would in the footage itself. Plus, Saturn Girl gives new meaning to the term “throwing your weight around.”

For more on “Legion of Super-Heroes,” be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

MEET THE LEGION – Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign (Odette Annable), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El (Chris Wood) recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (guest star Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Derek Simon & Eric Carrasco (#310). Original airdate 1/15/18.

Supergirl returns with new episodes tonight on The CW.
