After appearing in the first season of the CW’s The Flash as an incarcerated James Jesse, AKA The Trickster, it’s now been confirmed that Star Wars icon Mark Hamill will be back to play the villain for season 2.

Hamill originally portrayed the character in the ’90s Flash series alongside John Wesley Shipp’s (who also returned for the new incarnation as Barry Allen’s father) Scarlet Speedster, so fans were delighted to see him return as an older version of that character, even though the shows aren’t supposed to exist in the same continuity.

Rumors swirled after reports came in that Hamill was photographed in the set, and now Comicbook.com seem to have confirmed that he will indeed make an appearance after reaching out to The CW. Unfortunately, there are no details on which specific episodes he’ll feature in or how big a role he’ll play, but that info. should be forthcoming.

The next episode of The Flash Season 2 will be with us on Tuesday night at 8 PM ET on The CW.
