Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ star has devastating news for anyone keeping their fingers crossed for a comeback

The decision not to bring back a fan-favorite character has been met with much disappointment.

Fans are left dismayed yet again after learning that Deborah Ann Woll wouldn’t reprise her role as Karen Page in Daredevil: Born Again after she made it apparent during a Q&A session at ICCCon in Nashville. This news comes after the actress previousl said in that despite the show’s abrupt demise in 2018, she’d love to reprise the role.

This weekend, though, the actress was asked if she would be interested in joining the DC Universe instead of returning to the MCU in the role of Karen Page, where the bad news bombshell was dropped:

“Am I allowed to cross the streams? I feel like that would be very dangerous. There’s a few people who can do it. But I don’t know that I’m one of those lucky few. I don’t know about DC. You know, this was so cool, to be a part of this series. And I think, you know, it was such a unique little corner of the MCU that felt really special. I’m really happy with what I’ve had and there’s no, you know, no plans for me so far on either side of the comic book universe, but I’m so grateful for the experience that I had.”

Daredevil’s love interest Karen Page, who also appears in The Punisher and The Defenders, is a deep and nuanced character whose talents, flaws, and personal journey emerge throughout the series. Karen starts at the show’s beginning as a naive and idealistic young woman who is eager to prove herself and deeply invested in her profession.

She has a solid moral compass and comes out as compassionate and understanding. However, Karen’s character develops into a darker and more complex one throughout the series. She is tough and determined to do what’s right; she will go to any lengths to find the truth or expose wrongdoing.

With such admirable and robust traits, it’s understandable why Woll wanted to play the role again, and it’s easy to see why fans are disappointed to learn that they wouldn’t get another chance to see the actress as their daring heroine, with some expressing their disappointment on Twitter.

Others are still hoping for Deborah Ann Woll’s return regardless.

On the plus side, at least Charlie Cox will resume his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the upcoming Disney Plus series.
