New Promo For The Walking Dead Teases A Mysterious Collective

Well, that was definitely quite a step up now, wasn't it? AMC's The Walking Dead returned tonight and as promised, the midseason premiere picked things up and got this next batch of episodes off to an exciting start. The first half of season 7 was a bit of a dreary, drawn out trek through a lot of unnecessary subplots and minor characters getting too much screen time. This instalment, however, changed all that.

Well, that was definitely quite a step up now, wasn’t it? AMC’s The Walking Dead returned tonight and as promised, the midseason premiere picked things up and got this next batch of episodes off to an exciting start. The first half of season 7 was a bit of a dreary, drawn out trek through a lot of unnecessary subplots and minor characters getting too much screen time. This instalment, however, changed all that.

Now, it looks like the momentum will carry on as we approach next week’s episode, which will also be extended, coming in at 66 minutes. While it’s true that the show’s been guilty of wasting its extra runtime in the past, tonight’s outing certainly made the most of it and we’re hopeful that’s a trend that’ll continue throughout the rest of the season.

Regardless, it at least looks like we’re in for another good time with episode 10, as the newly released promo above and clip below can attest to. As usual, not too much is shown off, but what we’re teased with looks promising, as Rick finds himself in a sticky situation with a mysterious new group, which will no doubt add an interesting dynamic to the show. Plus, we also get a glimpse of that creepy spiked walker!

For more on next week’s instalment, which is titled “New Best Friends,” you can consult the plot summary below, courtesy of AMC:

While searching for a missing Alexandrian, Rick and his group encounter a mysterious collective, its inhabitants unlike any they have come across.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC next Sunday at 9pm. Will you be tuning in, or were you not all that impressed with the midseason premiere? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place!
