Get Ready To Return To Westworld Next Month

Despite some troubles early on in production, HBO's sci-fi series Westworld went on to become one of the most loved and talked about new shows of 2016, impressing viewers week after week with shocking plot twists, tour de force performances and brilliant writing that left us with much to mull over. As a show that asked many more questions than it answered, and gave us a whole lot to think about, it's understandable that fans are eager to get another chance to dive into its mysteries and next month, they'll be able to do just that.

That’s because HBO has now announced that the complete first season of Westworld will be arriving on Digital HD on March 6th. Unfortunately, the network makes no mention of when exactly we can expect to see it hit Blu-ray and DVD, but does note that it’ll arrive on those formats before season 2 begins.

Frankly, that doesn’t mean a whole lot given that the show isn’t expected to return until 2018, so we could potentially be waiting over a year to see it hit store shelves. More than likely, the release will only be a month or two behind the Digital HD launch, but right now, we don’t have a confirmed date to share with you.

What we do have, however, is the list of bonus features you can expect to check out should you make the purchase next month, and they’re as follows.

  • Welcome to Westworld
  • Crafting the Narrative
  • An Invitation to The Set
  • Reality of A.I.: Westworld
  • Welcome to Westworld: About the Series
  • The Big Moment:
    • The Big Moment: Bernard Faces an Unlikely Saboteur
    • The Big Moment: Teddy Versus the Man in Black
    • The Big Moment: A Host Self-Sabotages
    • The Big Moment: Maeve Gets An Answer
    • The Big Moment: Dr. Ford’s Blood Sacrifice
    • The Big Moment: The Truth About Bernard
    • The Big Moment: Dr. Ford’s New Narrative

So, quite a lot there then, and it should all serve to give us a nice look into one of 2016’s most celebrated TV shows, which fans will no doubt appreciate. Really though, just getting the chance to re-watch season 1 knowing what we now know about the characters and the park should be the real treat. It’ll certainly be a much different experience, but a rewarding one all the same.

Tell us, do you plan on picking up Westworld when it hits Digital HD next month? Let us know in the usual spot and be sure to stay tuned for that Blu-ray/DVD release date, as we’ll have it for you as soon as it’s made available.
