Season 5 Teaser For Arrow Unveils Black Canary Monument

It’s all change in Star City as Arrow prepares to return to The CW for its fifth season. With the premiere date set for October 5th, the network has officially cranked its marketing machine into action, with the first of what is sure to be many brief teasers giving us a glimpse of what is to come. There are familiar faces, and new faces, and an understandably pensive expression from Oliver Queen himself.

Check out the official plot summary below for more:

“Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.”

The significant reveals here are the memorial to Black Canary – also known as Oliver Queen’s former sweetheart, Laurel Lance – the shift in dynamic between Oliver and Felicity in light of the reduction of their vigilante team, and the possible attitude adjustment of Oliver’s sister, Thea.

It certainly seems as though the concept of teamwork is far from anyone’s mind as Arrow gears up for its new season – but will that level of discord last? We’ll be searching the next teasers for all the clues we can find.
