Netflix Stokes Excitement For Stranger Things Season 3 With Table Read Video

Get ready, nerds; the cast of Stranger Things have reunited for season 3, and Netflix has pumped out a nostalgic video to mark the start of production.

“Old friends and a few strangers came together to start a new adventure.”

That’s the resounding message attached to Netflix’s first behind-the-scenes teaser for Stranger Things season 3, which brings together the likes of Millie Bobby Brown and Hellboy‘s David Harbour for what is surely the first table read.

They’re joined by series newcomers Jake Busey (Bruce) and Cary Elwes (Mayor Kline), as the camera swoops and glides over all of the many name cards and top-secret scripts on display, culminating at the moment when fan-favorite Priah Ferguson, (Lucas’ Caleb McLaughlin younger sister Erica), swipes at the lens and tells everyone to get lost. Thank heavens she’s been promoted to a series regular.

Also of note, production on Stranger Things season 3 has been underway since last Friday, April 20th, which tells us that Netflix is likely targeting a premiere in the early stages of 2019.

Chalk that up as conjecture for now, as today’s retro-inspired video doesn’t allude to any official release window. It does, however, confirm that co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer are back in the driving seat for what is sure to be another thrilling trip into the Upside Down.

Our last trip to Hawkins largely revolved around the looming Shadow Monster and its peculiar connection to Will Byers. The Demo-Dogs didn’t work, so perhaps season 3 will signal the moment when the Upside Down’s greatest threat crosses over onto our plain. Stay tuned for more on that one.

The quaint town of Hawkins, Indiana swings its doors open to old threats and new allies when Stranger Things season 3 airs sometime in 2019. Little is currently known about Netflix’s release schedule, but we’ll be keeping you posted as more information comes to light.
