Titans Season Finale Synopsis Reveals What’s Going On With Batman

To say that Titans was a hot topic in the geek community late last week is an understatement. Not only did the trailer for the season finale give us our first look at this series' version of Batman, but it also showed him going off the deep end. In other words, it appeared as though he finally had it with the Joker and began slaughtering his rogues gallery.

Naturally, a murderous Dark Knight caused two reactions: some folks were highly intrigued and excited by what they saw, while others were completely flabbergasted. Of course, those of us who saw episode 1×10, “Koriand’r,” and knew how it left off had an inkling that Dick being tasked with taking down his mentor may have been the result of a fantasy world created by Trigon.

Well, if the newly released synopsis for the season finale, “Dick Grayson,” has told us anything, it’s that those suspicions may soon be proven correct:

In the season finale, Trigon’s powers send Dick into a dreamscape that begins with him living a happy domestic life, but soon takes him into a dark journey back to Gotham.

If I were to hazard a guess, Dick will probably first find himself living an ideal life, before experiencing his ultimate nightmare: a Batman gone berserk. Even if that pans out – and it most likely will – we’ll still wind up with a kick-ass episode chock full of dynamite action scenes, regardless.

One other thing to be addressed is us all being taken off guard by the term “season finale” being applied to episode 1×11. Like you, I was given the impression that season 1 consisted of twelve installments, so maybe we’ve got a two-parter on our hands. I guess we’ll find out in a matter of days, but fingers remain crossed for at least one more entry into what’s proven to be an incredible freshman effort.

Titans airs on Fridays on DC Universe.
