It’s been half a year since Warrior Nun was unceremoniously pulled from the airwaves and tossed onto the scrapheap by Netflix, but not once has the fandom ever shown even the merest sign of going quietly into the night.
There are very few shows of the modern age – if ever – that have captured attention and imagination on a global scale quite like the widely-acclaimed comic book adaptation, with the Halo Bearers taking it upon themselves to pay for various billboards all around the world straight from their own pockets in an attempt to drum up buzz and awareness.
Admittedly, the success rate so far remains at zero, with no streaming service or network stepping in to take the plunge. However, that doesn’t mean the fight is over, with showrunner and executive producer Simon Barry once more relaying his thanks to supporters after Warrior Nun scooped Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror Series trophy from Tell-Tale TV.
Sure, it’s not exactly a Primetime Emmy or a Golden Globe, but a trophy cabinet looks much more impressive when it isn’t empty. As a result, the Warrior Nun conversation has been started up all over again, regardless of how the facts and data don’t generally tend to support the notion of abandoned Netflix originals being resurrected, renewed, and restored elsewhere.
It goes without saying that the Halo Bearers simply do not care, and they’ll gladly laugh in the face of history to continue the campaign for Alba Baptista’s Ava Silver to return to their screens in one way or another.
