‘Warrior Nun’ showrunner rewards loyal campaigners with an ongoing barrage of behind the scenes treats

We all know what the most tangible reward would be, though.

While the biggest and greatest reward would obviously be the show landing a renewal at either Netflix or a rival streaming service, Warrior Nun fans are going to have to make do with an ongoing barrage of behind the scenes goodies being offered up by showrunner Simon Barry for the time being.

At the end of the day, though, all of the billboards and retweets in the world aren’t going to make a single shred of difference unless Alba Baptista’s Ava Silva rises from the ashes of the episodic scrapheap to headline a third season of brand new stories, but so far nobody is willing to take the plunge.

Despite ranking as one of Netflix’s most popular and best-reviewed originals there’s ever been, any word on Warrior Nun existing outside the realms of wishful thinking continues to remain ominously silent. That doesn’t mean Barry has given up on his Halo Bearers, though, with the filmmaker and executive producer dropping even more unseen images for his followers to feast on.

The ratio of fan-backed campaigns to have actually succeeded is about as thin as you’d expect when top-level executives generally don’t pay heed to what’s happening on Twitter, but stranger things have certainly happened in the past. With Netflix deciding that the engagement rate wasn’t high enough for Warrior Nun to succeed in the long-term, the associated costs of an expensive and effects-heavy fantasy series might be proving prohibitive for any prospective interested parties.

Keep those fingers crossed, then, because the movement is largely driven by hope more than anything else.
