With Suicide Squad finally arriving in theatres this past weekend, the internet is being flooded with opinions, reviews and editorials on the divisive film. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have lived up to the lofty expectations that many set for it and while it’s not as big of a disaster as Batman V Superman was, it’s still far from the success that Warner Bros. were no doubt hoping it would be.
One thing that most people can agree on, however, is that the cast is excellent, boasting talent like Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jai Courtney and more. While the majority of the actors here do strong work in their roles, it’s important to remember that the Suicide Squad cast didn’t always look like it does today. Far from it, in fact.
Before the film entered production, a number of names were thrown around for the various members of Task Force X, with actors like Tom Hardy and Jake Gyllenhaal both attached to the DC Comics adaption at one point, among others. And so, in honor of its release, we’ve decided to take a look back at 5 actors who almost starred in Suicide Squad at one point.
