Green Lantern Will Be In Justice League

According to a report from The Wrap, Green Lantern will be featured in Zack Snyder's Justice League, which arrives in theatres next November. Despite the fact that we know next to nothing about Warner Bros.' Green Lantern Corps., which is set for a 2020 release, apparently the studio plans to introduce him in the upcoming superhero team-up film, which makes sense.

According to a report from The Wrap, Green Lantern will have a role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which arrives in theatres next November. Despite the fact that we know next to nothing about Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern Corps., which is set for a 2020 release, apparently the studio plans to introduce the character in the upcoming superhero team-up film – and really, it’s about time they do.

All the report says is that a “member of the Green Lantern Corps. will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.” It doesn’t reveal which member it’ll be or the actor set to play him (though we have our own ideas on that), but it’s an extremely intriguing nugget of information nonetheless.

Back when Justice League was still set to be split into two parts, we were told that we’d be introduced to Green Lantern in the second half. Even though we’re now only getting one film, it seems as if Warner Bros. still intends to keep the character’s role in tact, presumably to give audiences a taste of him before the 2020 outing rolls around.

Most likely, Green Lantern’s role here will be something similar to The Flash’s quick cameo in Batman V Superman – a brief introduction that leaves us thirsty for more. He obviously won’t be part of the titular team, at least not yet, and given that the character hasn’t even been cast (as far as we know), don’t count on him having too much time on screen.

Like we said, it’ll probably just be a brief, yet key scene to help set up future films, which is absolutely fine with us. At this stage, we’ll take anything we can get when it comes to Warner Bros.’ new version of the hero. After all, the last time they adapted him for the big screen, we got the dreadful 2011 outing with Ryan Reynolds in the lead role. As such, expectations are certainly high for the studio to deliver this time around.

Justice League will be with us on November 17th, 2017, while Green Lantern Corps. is still a long way off, with the film not set to arrive until July 24th, 2020.
