Henry Cavill Looks To Be Getting In Shape For His Next Superman Outing

We last saw Henry Cavill suit up for his third appearance as Superman in November’s Justice League, which featured the Man of Steel reborn and given a new, brighter outlook. It left many fans hungry to see more of this traditional take on Supes but, due to the future of the DCEU still being figured out, we don’t really know when Cavill will be back in the red cape. That being said, new evidence suggests the actor might be preparing to return to the role fairly soon.

Hollywood personal trainer Mark Twight recently posted an image of Henry Cavill working out on Vero and captioned it: “365×3. Kal is unimpressed,” referring to the dog in the photo that, funnily enough, shares a name with Cavill’s on-screen alter ego Kal-El. But what’s the story here? Surely a guy like Henry likes to keep himself in shape all the time, right?

Well, yes, it’s entirely possible this is for the actor’s own personal benefit or even for a different role, but it’s worth mentioning that Twight worked with the British star on both Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of JusticeSo could this photo tell us that Cavill’s preparing to film some new scenes as Superman in the near future? Perhaps.

After all, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Henry might be squeezing back into his blue and red tights again. There’ve been rumors for ages that Superman will have cameo in 2019’s Shazam! In fact, Cavill’s own manager’s even teased it. What’s more, the star himself joked on Instagram a few weeks ago that he’ll “totally probably” be back as Supes any day now.

Beyond that, there’s always Man of Steel 2, which folks are desperate to see. Sadly, fan favorite pick Christopher McQuarrie recently ruled himself out of the director’s chair, but it’s also been rumored that an announcement on the proposed sequel could be made soon. So perhaps we should expect some Superman news at Comic-Con? Time will tell, but either way, we’ll keep you posted.
