Iris and Black Siren

The Flash’s Candice Patton Hopes Iris Will Meet Black Siren

Of the many things making the Arrowverse awesome, one element that keeps viewers coming back for more is that of the crossovers. As is the case in comics, animation and cinema, many fans love seeing their favorite characters meeting under exciting circumstances.

Having been the first show to spinoff from Arrow, The Flash sure has seen its share of mashups over the years. In fact, those two series joined forces for the first few crossovers attempted in this continuity, thus looking like a logistical cakewalk when compared to the massive undertakings we now enjoy each fall.

Of course, we’ve also been witness to smaller meetings here and there, such as when John Diggle experienced yet another rendezvous with Team Flash not long ago. And if actress Candice Patton has her way, a different resident of Star City will soon cross paths with Iris West.

Here’s a transcript from a panel hosted by Popsugar where Patton expressed interest in working with Katie Cassidy:

Patton: “I don’t know. Isn’t she evil now?”

Caity Lotz: “She’s Black Siren now. Laurel Lance is dead, but Black Siren is alive.”

Patton: “I mean, anything is possible, especially with these crossovers that we do every single year. There’s so many actors from this universe that I haven’t worked with, and Katie is up there. I would love to work with her.”

Now, I’ve seen every episode of every Arrowverse series there is, but even I must admit it’s pretty difficult to remember which talents have shared scenes and which haven’t. Thus, I’m willing to take Candice’s word for it and hope that Iris gets to meet Black Siren, especially now that the latter is on the side of good.

The Flash returns for its fifth season on Tuesday, October 9 on The CW.
