The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have just introduced its own multiverse with the Season 1 finale of Loki, but The Flash will be out to prove that the DCEU can play with alternate timelines in equal if not more spectacular fashion, and there’s every reason to believe director Andy Muschietti and his team are capable of pulling it off.
It still feels a little surreal that the Scarlet Speedster’s solo debut has finally made it into production, having spent the better part of seven years in development hell, cycling through countless writers and filmmakers during that time. Cameras officially started rolling towards the end of April, and we’ve already seen plenty of set photos revealing several of the movie’s major players.
Another batch of behind the scenes images have now made their way online, and while Ezra Miller’s questionable hairdo should be a hot topic of conversation, most of the focus will invariably fall on the showcasing of Michael Keaton’s Batmobile and Batcave, which already appear to have been taken down in record time by Warner Bros.
We know that The Flash is shooting at the same exterior locations Tim Burton used for Wayne Manor over 30 years ago, so it stands to reason that the multiversal comic book blockbuster will be recreating the interiors down to a tee as well. It’s massively tantalizing to say the least, and that’s without mentioning another great look at Sasha Calle’s Supergirl in full costume.
One notable absentee from the deluge of pictures so far has been Ben Affleck, who appears to be maintaining a much lower profile than the rest of his co-stars, but Zack Snyder’s Batman has reportedly already been filming opposite Keaton, which is probably the reason The Flash is so desperate to keep the epic face off under wraps.
