Hugh Jackman wraps up his Broadway run, now it’s time to get into Wolverine shape for ‘Deadpool 3’

It's time to dust off those claws, grow out those sideburns, and hit the gym.

By the time Deadpool 3 comes to theaters in November 2024, Hugh Jackman will have recently turned 56 years old, and the actor has hardly been shy when it comes to admitting that getting into Wolverine shape is nowhere near as easy as it used to be.

When the long-awaited collaboration between the adamantium-infused mutant and Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with the Mouth hits the big screen, almost a quarter of a century will have passed since Jackman first played the role in Bryan Singer’s genre-defining X-Men, but we can expect the star to pull out all the stops after finally signing on for the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut we thought impossible for the longest time.

Besides looking forward to beating the crap out of online archenemy Reynolds on a daily basis, the Academy Award nominee has some extra time in his schedule to start hitting the weights and pounding the protein, after wrapping up his run on Broadway in The Music Man, leading to him paying tribute to all those who played a part in his latest stint treading the boards.

Deadpool 3if that’s even what it ends up being called – is expected to begin shooting roundabout the summertime, and with Jackman previously revealing he needed six months to get back to his ripped berserker best, he’s going to be in prime physical condition at exactly the right moment.

For all we care, Wolverine could wear a shirt the entire time to save Jackman the hassle, because the prospect of the iconic duo teaming up is more than enough to sell the MCU’s first R-rated movie to the masses.
