Latest Marvel News: ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Disney Plus release backfires as Chris Pratt’s next superhero role after Star-Lord takes shape

The complaints are streaming in.

After DC definitely dominated the superhero side of the internet yesterday, Marvel wrestled to take back control today as we welcomed in February by delivering something fans have been waiting months for. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now at last available to view at your leisure on Disney Plus, after the single longest gap between an MCU film’s theatrical release and its streaming arrival since the platform began. You’d think this might keep folks happy, but actually you’d be wrong…

Yes, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally made its Disney Plus debut today, but unfortunately it didn’t go to plan. The excitement surrounding its long-awaited streaming premiere was overshadowed by many fans making the same complaint about the film on social media. The criticism stemmed from the fact that the movie was turning out to be even harder to watch than folks remembered from their theatrical viewings — although not because of all the emotional moments, but because of its lack of brightness. I mean, we always knew this was one of the darker MCU offerings, but come on, Disney, this is taking it too far.

Multiversal theorists wonder what the future (and the past, and the present) holds for one of the franchise’s oldest faves

Long after Iron Man, Captain America, and many Phase One favorites have departed the franchise, Tom Hiddleston is still hanging around as Loki, but the God of Mischief’s many fans are pondering what his story arc across the rest of the Multiverse Saga will look like. The time-traveling trickster is likely to encounter Kang again in Loki season two, so this has led to much speculation that he could continue to be a key player as the temporal tyrant amasses more and more power in the run-up to Avengers: Secret Wars. Remember, fans have previously guessed that Thor’s brother could be one of three heroes who are eventually responsible for conquering the Conqueror.

Even haters can’t deny Chris Pratt needs to take on this just-announced superhero role after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Thanks to his bizarre casting as Mario, Chris Pratt is now the butt of every gag when it comes to movie recasts — just this week, DC folks started joking that he should take over from Zachary Levi as Shazam. But James Gunn’s recent DCU announcements actually paved the way for the Star-Lord star to join Marvel’s rival franchise in a role he would be genuinely perfect for. Even his antis can’t help but agree that Pratt is the only choice to lead the newly announced Booster Gold movie. Not only could the timing not be better, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 concluding the saga this May, but Gunn has teased he’s thinking about bringing Pratt into the fold. As Gold? Well, he does need the boost.

Unlike Wakanda Forever, the Marvel news machine never goes dark, so don’t go anywhere.
