First ‘Pokémon Horizons’ episode synopsis seemingly appears online

Not everyone is happy with the alleged plot for the first episode of 'Pokémon Horizons'.

Pokémon‘s newest anime series, Pokémon Horizons, will be out in just a few weeks. While fans look forward to seeing this new series without Ash, a leaked synopsis for the upcoming series has trainers divided.

Twitter user @AnipokeFandom spotted the synopsis for episode one of the upcoming new series. According to what was shared, the episode will be about Liko’s first Pokémon journey and will be making her way to Kanto, rather than studying in Naranja/Uva Academy in the region she grew up in. Meanwhile, mysterious people are after her pendant.

“Liko, a girl from the Paldea region, has enrolled at the Sekiei Academy, a boarding school in the Kanto region. Liko is delighted to receive her first Pokémon, Sprigatito but it doesn’t listen to her at all. While Liko struggles to deepen her bond with Sprigatito, on the other hand, suspicious people appear who are looking for Liko’s mysterious pendant?!”

While it’s currently unknown if the leak is true, fans were not excited to go back to Kanto in the new series. It was assumed that Pokémon Horizons was going to be based in Paldea, as per tradition, since it’s the newest region in the franchise. Not to mention, Liko is from there and suddenly, the show wants to take her back to Kanto. Some claimed that bringing the new series back to the first region doesn’t make the show seem very exciting compared to when it was first announced.

Pokémon Horizons is Pokémon’s newest main anime series after Ash and Pikachu’s journey came to an end. The show will feature new characters and it’s currently unknown if any familiar faces will appear as cameos. The show will air in Japan on April 14, 2023. Meanwhile, the English dub still has an unknown release date.
